As the Battery Network Optimization Management Lead, you will oversee the real-time optimization of Kofa’s battery network, managing a dynamic team responsible for maintaining a seamless customer experience, minimizing risks, and maximizing operational efficiency. Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of Kofa’s NOC and driving the scalability of our network across Africa.

Key Responsibilities
Network Operations Management
- Lead and manage the Network Operations Center (NOC) team to ensure 24/7 real-time decision-making and operations.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Kofa’s battery swap stations and network to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with field teams to investigate, resolve, and prevent equipment faults and ensure the safety and reliability of the network.
- Respond to operational events and alarms, taking immediate action to address risks, including health and safety concerns.
Data-Driven Optimization
- Conduct analysis and develop models to improve real-time decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to enhance automation and integrate AI into the NOC processes for optimized value delivery.
- Generate insights through daily, weekly, and quarterly reporting to improve short- and long-term decision-making for the battery network.
Risk and Capacity Management
- Implement effective risk management strategies to balance commercial revenue and costs while ensuring SLAs are met.
- Address network constraints by proposing and deploying incentives or tools to maintain a seamless battery swapping experience.
- Design and execute pricing strategies within defined risk parameters to support both customer value and Kofa’s economic goals.
Customer-Centric Operations
- Ensure the network provides a safe, reliable, and seamless customer experience at all times.
- Dispatch batteries across the network at the lowest cost while maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to provide actionable insights for improving customer value and business scalability.
Emergency Response Coordination
- Act as the first point of contact for triggering emergency protocols, including site evacuations, initial communication with emergency services, and coordination with standby resources.
Key Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Sciences from a leading university (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a high-paced operations environment, such as a trading desk, NOC, or similar setting.
- Proven ability to make commercial decisions under time constraints and operational pressures.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Advanced Excel skills (required); proficiency in Python or other programming languages (preferred).
- Familiarity with data science techniques and tools is an advantage.
